Carolina Reaper Double Boost

Whats hotter than a Hot Chilli? Yep The Carolina Reaper. Its exceptionally hot. Scoville scale rating = 1,569,300 on average SHU. Thats very very hot. So because I'm a bit of a chilli eating guitarist poncey pussy, I took that SHU and turned it into gain, leaving me with a cucumber to munch on.

The Carolina Reaper boost is a double 'Hot Chilli' boost in one enclosure. Use each channel individually or together as you please. Together, is pretty sick! All that SHU smashing into the front end of your amp. Talk about high gain!  6 pots, 3 per side and two footswitches.

The PCB hangs from the six pots, inside its enclosure, which is a JP125B.

The circuit is a modified Dallas Rangemaster type treble boost, its a fairly easy circuit, but theres a fair bit of offboard wiring to do as it has two footswitches.

There's a video of our kit here (the single hot chilli version - it gives you a good idea.)

This kit has the option of top or side mounted jacks and power. It makes no difference to a simple PCB only order, but you msut choose one.

  • This kit compares to the Naga Viper by Catalinbread.  Two of them, in one enclosure.
